You Won’t Get A Pair Of Licensed Tights In DC Universe Online

June 27, 2008

dcuni2 You Wont Get A Pair Of Licensed Tights In DC Universe Online
DC Universe Online for the PC and PS3 will hit shelves sometime in 2009. But players will not get a chance to assume the role of Batman, Green Lantern or even the lowly Aquaman. Which really kind of seems like bullshit. The game is going to be a cross between an action title and an MMO. Why not have multiple Superman’s flying around? You will get to design your own superhero, pick out some abilities from a buffet of powers and choose between good and evil. DC characters will appear in the game but only as NPCs. If it’s a dealbreaker, or you already left City of Heroes behind, stick with Worlds Collide.

Sony is working on some pretty Zen shit. At least that’s the feeling I left with from a hands on demo of Q-Games upcoming PSN title PixelJunk Eden. When I say “Zen shit” I mean that in the most positive way possible. Read the rest of this entry »

gamecomics There Are More Video Game-Based Comics Than Youd Think
MTV Multiplayer has put up a compendium of comics based off of video games. They list 31 titles with a rundown on each title. If you don’t remember such classics as Atari Force or Adventures of the Super Mario Bros., don’t worry. You probably weren’t alive. Since we’re talking comics this seems like the spot to mention that Nintendo will spice up their WiiWare offerings with comic distribution but only in Japan. As pointed out by Se Ajala over at ThatVideoGameBlog, Nintendo needs to shore up the Wii’s onboard memory shortage to make the most of downloadable content.

Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath hit shelves this week as an Xbox 360 exclusive. I’ve never played any of the C&C franchises on a console. But the new CommandStick feature supposedly delivers a fast interface for creating and rolling out units. In other news, Natasha Henstridge makes a few appearances in the cut scenes and of course, Joe Kucan returns as everyone’s favorite Tiberium-hoarding messiah, Kane. You figure with their budget they could’ve gotten the guy a better looking helmet. Check out a gameplay video after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Activision will publish their latest Cabela’s-sponsored thrill killer, Dangerous Hunts 2009, this fall for all consoles. Now gamers can hunt animals that can turn the tables on the people holding the gun. Usually these supposed “man killers” only snuff humans after said animal has had its day on the African veldt or the Canadian wilderness disturbed by a bullet and is generally pissed off.
