Bayonetta, Guaranteed To Satisfy Your Heritical Dominatrix Witch Librarian Fetish

Developer Atsushi Inaba ran a demo of Bayonetta his first title for the Platinum/Sega collective. Unfortunately Sega did not release any screens or even allow for any questions with the developers but they did show off a couple minutes of gameplay. Anyone with a hankering for a heavily armed librarian witch dominatrix with a thing against all that’s supposedly holy will be happy when the game hits in 2009.
Inaba did not go into detail regarding the storyline or why the main character, Bayonetta, is hunting angels but he did show off a lot of her powers. Bayonetta uses a combat melee system with kicks and punches from the witch as well as using any one of the four guns attached to each of her limbs. She can also summon magic torture attacks that seem to come out of her hair. With a flick of her black locks and Iron Maiden will appear and encase an opponent, a massive guillotine will behead them or, for the foot fetishists out there, summon a giant high heel to stomp an angel into the ground.
Inaba also showed off a brief boss battle against a 40-foot behemoth with vestigial Cupid-style wings, gold halos pierced through its spine and the head of a baby angel. To top it off it looked like it was made out of stone. After a short battle Bayonetta finished the critter off with more hair magic, summoning what a Sega PR rep referred to as a dragon but looked a little more like a big, black Yorkie. The main character pulls off all the action while jauntily swinging her latex covered ass about and never once losing her black framed glasses. Apparently Bayonetta can curb-stomp the armies of God but can’t figure out a spell for myopia.
Overall the game looks gorgeous and it’s original IP, something that gamers won’t see a lot of for the rest of this year. Bayonetta will hit shelves in 2009. Intriguing plat and ridiculous sounding action. Consider my interest piqued, I’ll be looking forward to finding out more.

Any chance you could ask him if multiple different types of animations are used for each type of torture attack and if he has planned more hidden unlockable either by buying with currency or experience aquired opens the possibility for double/triple torture attacka a la 2 enemies under guilotine/iron maiden
