Call Of Duty 5: Stomping That Last Bit Of Romanticism Out Of Killing Foreigners
June 23, 2008
Admit it, you’ve watched some old school World War II flicks that left you with the feeling that killing other humans is a great way to pass some time. The Great Escape made solitary confinement look like an exercise in meditation. The Dirty Dozen left you with the feeling that after killing a castle full of Germans you ride off on a half-track with a cooler full of ice cold Budweiser. Lately the tide at romanticizing one of the Earth’s greatest bloodbaths has changed. Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Flags of our Fathers…they have all painted a darker, more realistic picture of the Deuce. Judging by the trailer the latest Call of Duty, World at War, is going to throw the entire contents of the “no bueno” bucket all over the perception of killing off the Axis as a rocking good time. Check the video after the jump.
