July 24, 2008

soulcalibur4 Each Soulcalibur 4 Pimp Slap Revealed
Every character in the Soul Calibur IV roster gets their own Critical Finish move. Amazingly it sounds a lot like a euphemism for something you’d see in extreme Japanese porn but that’s what you get when the phrase ‘Fatality’ is already taken. Hit the jump to catch the full video and plenty of shots of dangling ass cheek. Read the rest of this entry »

Does Marvel Need To Start Praying For Help On The Game Front?

July 24, 2008

marvelfusion Does Marvel Need To Start Praying For Help On The Game Front?
Is it just me or is DC kicking Marvel’s teeth in on the video game front? Activision just rolled out their Comic-Con trailer for Marvel Alliance 2 Fusion (after the jump) and so far it fails to impress. Activision has yet to release any hard information on the game, but it the inherent mechanic seems to focus on Marvel heroes combining their powers for special attacks. Unfortunately they don’t look so special. Read the rest of this entry »

Little League World Series Game Looks Way More Exciting Than Actual Baseball

July 02, 2008

llwsscreen_main Little League World Series Game Looks Way More Exciting Than Actual Baseball
With all the spoiled multi-millionaire players and ’roid rage going on, sometimes it seems like watching Little League baseball is way more fun than the jaded MLB professionals. Every August, we tune into the lil’ sluggers on ESPN, where teams from around the world to converge in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.

So it’s probably a smart move for Activision to reinvigorate the baseball genre with Little League World Series Baseball 2008, which drops this August on the Wii and DS. With 16 different US or international teams, the game features customizable characters and exaggerated action straight out of an anime flick. Hit the jump to watch the debut trailer.

Legendary’s Creatures Will Make You Wish You Never Opened Pandora’s Box

July 01, 2008

legendarycreatures_main Legendarys Creatures Will Make You Wish You Never Opened Pandoras Box
Even with all the different horror survival games that have been released throughout the years, it’s not very often that we feel pangs of fear just from watching a game trailer. But the new video that introduces us to the killer creatures in the upcoming first-person shooter Legendary might have us sleeping with one eye open tonight.

The game puts you in the shoes of Charles Deckard, a thief who steals Pandora’s Box and accidentally unleashes an army of mythical beats upon New York City. You’re forced to do battle with everything from Werewolves to Minotaurs in your quest to save the planet from evil Armageddon. But the scariest part has to be their unpredictability—each creature has an Alpha and a Beta class and a variety of “moods” that can constantly change the method and intensity with which they will rip your head off. The game drops in September on Xbox and PS3, so hit the jump to preview its creatures and the weaponry that just might save your ass.

Wait, Saints Row 2 Has A…Storyline?

June 27, 2008

saintsrow2 Wait, Saints Row 2 Has A...Storyline?
As information has slowly trickled out about Saints Row 2, everything from death by defibrillator to Gary Busey as a pitchman, nothing has even indicated there will be a story line. So far the game has looked entertaining enough not to really need a few movies’ worth of dialogue. But, judging by the trailer of cut scenes after the jump, gamers will get their share of dark, sarcastic semi-drama as well as a healthy dose of facial tattoos, stripper poles and samurai swords. Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath hit shelves this week as an Xbox 360 exclusive. I’ve never played any of the C&C franchises on a console. But the new CommandStick feature supposedly delivers a fast interface for creating and rolling out units. In other news, Natasha Henstridge makes a few appearances in the cut scenes and of course, Joe Kucan returns as everyone’s favorite Tiberium-hoarding messiah, Kane. You figure with their budget they could’ve gotten the guy a better looking helmet. Check out a gameplay video after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Call Of Duty 5: Stomping That Last Bit Of Romanticism Out Of Killing Foreigners

June 23, 2008

cod5_waw Call Of Duty 5: Stomping That Last Bit Of Romanticism Out Of Killing Foreigners
Admit it, you’ve watched some old school World War II flicks that left you with the feeling that killing other humans is a great way to pass some time. The Great Escape made solitary confinement look like an exercise in meditation. The Dirty Dozen left you with the feeling that after killing a castle full of Germans you ride off on a half-track with a cooler full of ice cold Budweiser. Lately the tide at romanticizing one of the Earth’s greatest bloodbaths has changed. Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Flags of our Fathers…they have all painted a darker, more realistic picture of the Deuce. Judging by the trailer the latest Call of Duty, World at War, is going to throw the entire contents of the “no bueno” bucket all over the perception of killing off the Axis as a rocking good time. Check the video after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

NCSoft Introduces The Bling Gnome

June 18, 2008

bling-gnome NCSoft Introduces The Bling Gnome
That’s right, a fucking “Bling Gnome.” This new little critter for NCSoft’s MMO title Dungeon Runners removes the need for players to waste time trekking long distances to cash out their items of in-game gold. Now they can just have a Bling Gnome eat their unwanted gear and crap gold. But the gnome comes at a price (don’t they always?). Dungeon Runners is available as a free download but the Bling Gnome is only available as an up-sell. It also comes bundled with a boxed version of the game. As far as exclusive content goes, it’s a pretty good idea. Plus it proves that Gamecock isn’t the only developer in Austin with a sense of humor. Catch the video of the Bling Gnome in action after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
