Das Review: MLB Power Pros 2008 DS
September 17, 2008
The last time I got to go this deep into something so unbearably cute, it was 1989 and she had frosted bangs. From the start, I couldn’t help but become endeared by MLB Power Pros 2008 as it pops the ubiquitous Wii / Mii heads onto your favorite players and throws you into a series of modes with endlessly customizable player stats.
Overall, gamers get a level of control rarely seen on handheld sports games, particularly on the DS. We’re talking manual and auto options for everything from pitching to outfield, stealing bases and the free-aim cursors for batting and pitching. Everything is spot on. There’s even an announcer that calls the shots with such clarity it makes you wonder why no other DS game is utilizing voice work this good. So, if this game seems so f-in cool then why am I bummed out?
