Denis Dyack Picked A Fight With NeoGaf To Prove A Point
August 19, 2008
I wanted to fit “like a dockwhore” into the headline but it wouldn’t fit on one line. In an interview with Videogaming247, the creator of Too Human (on sale today) explained his reasoning behind posting on NeoGaf. Warned, assumably by his co-workers, not to post on any forum because “Forums don’t have any affect,” Dyack set out to prove the opposite. By posting on NeoGaf back in June stating, “Too Human will be out in August and I think there are going to be a lot of trolls crying here.”
He goes into detail as to why he got down in the trenches with the NeoGaf crew but it basically boils down to his penchant for getting people to think twice about how they think of technology. The post on NeoGaf tripped off a storm of publicity and, according to Dyack, contributed to Too Human setting a new record for demo downloads on Xbox Live. Why did he pick NeoGaf after all was said and done? “NeoGAF is considered to be the worst, and I would say is probably the worst forum. And so, you might as well pick the worst one.”
