In a move that could get construed as bowing to pressure cooked up by SarcasticGamer.com, EA has pulled the plug on their idea to sell downloadable content for Battlefield: Bad Company. EA is already pushing a Gold Edition of the game for an extra $10 that comes with five weapons that plebian gamers out there will have to unlock through leveling up. But who the fuck cares? This is America dammit, you can do whatever you want. Look at George Bush. Look at O.J. If child services hasn’t kicked in the door of the Tom Cruise household and started playing Whack-a-Scientologist, EA should be able to do what they damn well please. If they blink at the blogosphere there’s no telling how they’ll deal with the shitstorms on the horizon if they actually buy Take-Two.
