Gamecock’s Mike Wilson Running For ESA Prez

Mike Wilson, one of the co-founders of Gamecock, has announced his candidacy for the top job at the Entertainment Software Association. If he follows through he will take on incumbent president Michael D. Gallagher. We couldn’t tell you whether the ESA presidency is up for vote this year, or is even decided by votes at all. But we did a little preliminary scouting on the possible match up. According to the ESA’s leadership page we know that Gallagher has held positions of Director National Telecommunications & Information Administration, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy & Counselor, and even CIA Intelligence Fellow. What we know of Wilson? The dude can drink a lot of beer and isn’t afraid to dress like a rooster, or any assortment of animals for that matter.

We’ll research what it actually takes to get installed as the ESA’s president. But if Stephen Colbert can even sniff the ballot for the Oval Office much less place third in the Time 100, Wilson should have a chance at an ironic victory. At the very least it will be an extremely entertaining media campaign for Gamecock’s new game Hail to the Chimp. A press release from Gamecock included the following quotes from Wilson.

“As I have traveled the country this primaries season promoting our upcoming presidential party game ‘Hail To The Chimp,’ often wearing a furry animal suit of one kind or another, I have come to realize that even those of us with an aversion to public attention must step forward in times of need. I read last week that some of my most high profile supporters are not happy with the current administration of the ESA, and many of them apparently feel that I am the right man to right the ship, before it sinks entirely, due to my intimate experience with, or at least near, the E3 Expos in the past.”

And what announcement for candidacy of any office would be complete without a video message with the sounds of revolutionary drums, pipes and the (Texas) flag?
