Heavy Rain, Combining Dragon’s Lair, Law & Order SVU And…Rain

Sony publicly showed gameplay footage from the PS3 exclusive in the works by Quantic Dream, Heavy Rain. Most of the video (after the jump) deals with what looks like very passive play until your character, well presumably your character, gets into a tussle with a Silence of the Lambs-type of serial killer.
Gameplay appears to be keyed off of specific button presses such as hit the O button to block the knife attack for one move, hit X the next. It definitely reminds me of trying to move Dirk around in the old coin-op Dragon’s Lair. The press release intimates lots of adult subject matter and venturing down a dark, compelling path rarely ventured in the gaming world. Now all they need to do is have Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay knock on the door.

This looks pretty cool. If Ice-T makes an appearance, I hope the lovely and demure CoCo also does.
