Take one look at the trailer for Valve’s new survival horror game, Left 4 Dead, and you’ll come to the same conclusion as the rest of the gaming population-people are going to lose sleep over this shit. You could kind of call it a tower defense game, only you’re the tower. Hit the jump to check out the video.

The video LOOKED cool, but the voices… The level of voice acting was only marginally better than badly dubbed anime… The sound of a game can really set the tone.

The trailer looked good but anyone can make a good trailer. Also the voice acting was terrible. They were yelling and hollering but not in a scary way but in I just got a new FPS way. If the characters are not scarred how can the developers expect the players to be scarred. If I saw that terrifying hulk like zombie creature I would be pissing my pants terrified and begging Jesus to save me.

Oh god that voice acting was terrible.. I’ve been hyped for this game more than anyone but dear god I hope these aren’t the actors in the game. a lot of the voices sound like the soldier from team fortress 2 which is great in a wacky funny kind of game but in a game where you’re supposed to have a “oh god we’re gonna die WTF WAS THAT” type of mood.. Not so much

I don’t think thats the voice acting, I think its meant the be the voices of the players, since this is being pitched as a co-op game

Ok first off for some of the ignorant posters above me, this game will be fantastic. It is made by Valve so it automatically wins the internet, no arguments. Second, this game is made for online co-op, with an option for players to be “Boss” zombies and antagonize the main group at certain key locations. The voiced in the trailer ARE NOT featured in the game, you will hear the voices of your fellow co-op players from your speakers.
So in short, before you judge a game, learn a bit more about it.

Valve making this game only means that it better be good, because that is what everyone expects. It in no way guarantees that it will be good. Better hope it doesn’t suck complete balls.

Hmm, towards the end of the trailer, where the “hulk” type creature gets blown up, anyone recognise a sound effect from Quake 2? Specifically when you kill a “tank” in Quake 2.
