Project Natal opens up new interactions with avatars

LOS ANGELES — Microsoft wowed the E3 crowd with its Project Natal demo, which is the first videogame technology to eliminate the controller. Lionhead Studio’s Peter Molyneux showed off the potential in a demo featuring a little boy named Milo who interacts with a gamer through the screen. Microsoft also had playable game demos of Ricochet (think Breakout in 3D using your whole body as the controller) and a super-up Burnout that used your hands for a steering wheel and gear shifting. But the most impressive look at what’s likely to come next year and beyond through games is in the video below.
