Xbox 360 Version Of GTA IV Doubling Up On PS3 At GameStop
May 13, 2008
According to report on Level Up, the majority of gamers buying Grand Theft Auto IV from GameStop are picking the Xbox 360 version over the PS3 at a clip of two to one. Specifically GameStop reported selling 64% of its inventory on the 360 as opposed to 36% on the PS3 over the first week of sales. Even though the numbers sound like a crushing victory, the guys at Sony aren’t fazed. Peter Dille, Sony’s VP of marketing, points to the fact that the GTA IV sales numbers are a little low when you consider that there are seven Xbox 360s for every three PS3s lurking out there. Give this story a few more weeks to develop, then MGS 4 will hit, then Gears 2… hell, everyone should drop the term console and just call the struggle for supremacy as the sequel wars instead.
