Denis Dyack Picked A Fight With NeoGaf To Prove A Point

August 19, 2008

denisdyack Denis Dyack Picked A Fight With NeoGaf To Prove A PointI wanted to fit “like a dockwhore” into the headline but it wouldn’t fit on one line. In an interview with Videogaming247, the creator of Too Human (on sale today) explained his reasoning behind posting on NeoGaf. Warned, assumably by his co-workers, not to post on any forum because “Forums don’t have any affect,” Dyack set out to prove the opposite. By posting on NeoGaf back in June stating, “Too Human will be out in August and I think there are going to be a lot of trolls crying here.” Read the rest of this entry »

July 30, 2008

dyack Denis Dyack, In Bed With The Penthouse Pets, Part 3
That’s right, we got more Denis Dyack than we know what to do with. In this segment (number three out of a total four) Dyack touches on how he got into the games industry and offers some advice to the would be coders out there chugging suicide-sized cans of Red Bull while throwing together the next Geometry Wars. Turns out Dyack, as a member of his collegiate wrasslin’ team, crossed over from the world of athletics into computer science. “I made a metamorphosis from a jock that worked out six hours a day,” says Dyack, “to a scholar that worked on a computer 24 hours a day.” If you subscribe to Playboy’s description of E3 it’s almost as if Dyack is the walking embodiment of the tradeshow. Uh…just hit the jump to watch the video. Read the rest of this entry »

In this video Dyack climbs into bed with the lingerie-clad Heather Vandeven and Jaime Lynn to explain how he decided on using the Norse mythology as a backstory, contemplates the human soul and does an admirable job of using phrases like “upgraded body parts” without breaking eye contact with the ladies. Hit the jump to watch the video. Read the rest of this entry »

Hands On Time With Too Human

July 02, 2008

akoebel_shot_0028716 Hands On Time With Too Human
With a botched initial E3 showing to going more or less underground this past March, Silicon Knights has finally released a preview build of their upcoming action/RPG Too Human. Getting to play a quick demo version of the game during GDC isn’t always the easiest way to tackle a deep experience such as Too Human, so I put the preview version through its paces in both single player and cooperatively to see how well Silicon Knights has progressed.
