G4TV’s Human Wrecking Balls Stick It To Some Consoles

November 12, 2008

What happens when 240-pound meatsticks Paul and Craig Pumphrey, who hold world titles in breaking concrete blocks, ply their trade using an Xbox 360, a PS3 and a Wii as their targets? The stuff blows up. While it’s a little more technical than the guys at Gamesradar using a sledge, there is at least some more bodily risk. I think you’ll find the “hammerfist” portion of the event when the guys start bashing the PS3 and Wii with their bare hands. It gets pretty technical when the bigger meatstick says, “You better hit that thing freakin’ hard,” to which the smaller meatstick replies,”Well…that’s the plan.” Indeed. You can catch more meatstick versus inanimate objects actions on G4TV’s new show Human Wrecking Balls, sponsored by Powerthirst and KFC’s as-yet unrevealed menu item, the Bucket of Southern Fried Awesome. Probably.

Gary Oldman Blows The Lid Off Of Dark Knight Development

July 23, 2008

G4TV got some time with Gary Oldman to talk about the latest Batman flick. He mentions seeing gameplay clips of a new video game tied to The Dark Knight. Has he inadvertently blown the lid off an announcement for Comic Con? I’m guessing he’s not referencing the mobile game from Glu. It would make sense to drop the news of a new console title tied to The Dark Knight in San Diego (announcing a licensed game well after the release of the movie tie-in is another matter altogether is another question). The expected marketing tie-in has been suspiciously M.I.A. from the line up of licensed games tied to summer blockbusters. If the news does drop this weekend it’ll be just another stickpin in the voodoo doll that is E3.

Code Monkeys Takes 16-Bit Profanity Into Its Second Season

May 22, 2008

code-monkeys-2 Code Monkeys Takes 16-Bit Profanity Into Its Second SeasonDid you ever wonder what happened when you turned off your old SNES? Absolutely fucking nothing. It’s a machine dude, ain’t no magic in there. But Code Monkeys at least gives you an idea of what might happen if there was something lurking around in the box. The second season kicks of on G4TV on June 1st. Check the video previews of Mary going postal, Dave trying to get a bangin’ set of fakies, a little back story on Black Steve and, of course, the debut of Cock Goblin. The only critique so far? Mary shoots at least three people with a double barrel without reloading. When it comes to our cartoons we strive for realism. Get over it. Read the rest of this entry »
