Instead, computer jockeys will receive an Epic Heisman. GoW 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive in every sense of the word. A few weeks back Epic released a video that teased a very Predator-esque enemy coming up in Gears of War 2. The latest trailer on the game gives gamers a clearer look and a name, the Scourge. According to design director Cliff Bleszinski, this particular Locust wields a burst pistol and, of course, a double-ended chainsaw staff. While the Scourge represents the new “oh shit” opposition. Bleszinski still has a place in his heart for the kamikaze critters known as tickers. Speaking at the London presser for Gears of War 2, Cliff Bleszinski covered a shit ton of topics (yes, it’s a technical term) with videogaming247. One topic in particular was the desire of the developers to step up the vehicle combat in Gears 2. Well slap me on the ass and call me Billy. It looks like the Predator is coming to Gears of War 2. At least that’s what the screenshot above suggests. It shouldn’t come as shock if it is the case. Epic’s design director, Cliff Bleszinski, based character Augustus Cole off of the old Reebok Terry Tate, Office Linebacker commercials. In addition to the big Xbox 360 Gears of War 2 sequel, the replica Lancers, the the inevitable updates on the Gears flick, a new novel and last but not least, a new comic book series from DC Comics.

Epic brought in veteran comics writer Joshua Ortega (credits include Spider-Man Unlimited, Star Wars Tales and his first novel Frequencies), who had a hand in writing the script for Gears of War 2, to write the new Gears comic and ensure that the franchise has believable characters and engaging stories, in addition to the chainsodomy and Mature-rated gore. In the first segment Bleszinski focused on the work that still needs to be done on Gears of War 2. In part two of the interview, Bleszinksi talks about building hype around a new title, how the game industry has to sell its product to you more than once to survive and responds to bloggers telling him to shut the fuck up.
