Resident Evil 5’s Jun Takeuchi: Go To The Knife And You’re Screwed

Stephen Totilo over at MTV Multiplayer snagged an interview with Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi at E3. Capcom had a playable version on display in their booth. I was a little more partial to the Street Fighter IV arcade units but the RE franchise definitely deserves its due respect. Among the RE revelations, Capcom revealed the co-op game mechanic between main character Chris Redfield and new female character, Sheva Alomar. In his interview Takeuchi talks combat (if you have to resort to Redfield’s knife it’s pretty much over), co-op, chainsaws and more.

Capcom Will Lift The Lid On Resident Evil 5 Female Character, Virus At E3

Last week Capcom met with games press to talk about their current lineup. At the end of our session senior PR manager Melody Ann Pfeiffer talked us through the latest trailer of Resident Evil 5. Specifically she hinted that the big reveal for Resident Evil 5 at this year’s E3 will focus around the mysterious female accompanying Chris Redfield shown in the trailer (after the jump) as well as the new strain of virus worm twisting around on the floor. As with most of the games in the Capcom lineup, the release date for RE5 is fiscal year 2008. We’re betting on a holiday release. Read the rest of this entry »
