Looking for twice the cheap thrills and at least 98% less regret than hunting zebra on a Texas wild game safari? Assault Heroes 2 is now up and running on Xbox Live, yours for 8000 Microsoft points. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we should be covering Gears of War 2 and all the other titles getting announced for the pre-E3gasm. But this is probably the best new game you’re going to play this week. It’s certainly the only top-view shooter that pits you against a giant robotic carp. Plus we’ve got some more Gears coverage coming up later.

A fourth Bourne film is in the works for a release in 2010 but PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gamers will be able to step into the assassin’s shoes in the first game spinoff, The Bourne Conspiracy later this month. Matt Damon’s voice or likeness won’t appear in the Teen-rated title. But that won’t affect the pleasure you derive from beating another human being to death with a book. At least it… shouldn’t. According to a report on MTV Multiplayer, Matt Damon pulled out of lending his voice to Sierra’s upcoming release, The Bourne Conspiracy, due to the level of violence found in the game. Way to take a stance Matt! Banking a couple mil off of playing a government assassin must really give you the leisure time to build up a social conscience.
