Cliff Bleszinski On Gears 2, Re-Enacting The Miller Lite Catfight With Ted Price

Gears of War 2 is finished and ready for its November 7th debut on Xbox 360. To help fuel the ramp up Microsoft hosted an exclusive San Francisco event for journalists to play through every portion of the game, including the new campaign. Cliff Bleszinski, lead game designer at Epic Games, walked around the Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf ballroom as 30-plus HD TVs broadcast his latest creation. In between watching game journalists blast their way through (and underneath) Sera, he took some time to talk about Gears of War 2, why some gamers expect him to go nipple to nipple with Ted Price in a fountain, and his thoughts on David Jaffe. Sequelitis is a chronic (and generally cherished) disease for the game industry. The holiday season will serve up a massive dose. Ted Price, president/CEO of Insomniac Games, talked about his upcoming sequel and PS3 exclusive, Resistance 2. It’s slotted to go head-to-head with the Xbox 360 shooter Gears of War 2. Insomniac Prez Ted Price And Resistance 2 Give The 1950s A Swift Kick In The Nuts

Over the past three months, Insomniac President and CEO Ted Price has been showcasing a variety of gameplay elements from this fall’s PlayStation 3 sequel, Resistance 2. For those who didn’t play the original, this first-person shooter is set in an alternate history in which World War II never happened. Instead, the world was invaded by the Chimera, deadly aliens who are hell-bent on destroying the world.

While the first game focused on action across the pond in the United Kingdom, Insomniac has brought the battle home in Resistance 2, and set its sites on 1950s Americana.
