G4TV’s Human Wrecking Balls Stick It To Some Consoles

What happens when 240-pound meatsticks Paul and Craig Pumphrey, who hold world titles in breaking concrete blocks, ply their trade using an Xbox 360, a PS3 and a Wii as their targets? The stuff blows up. While it’s a little more technical than the guys at Gamesradar using a sledge, there is at least some more bodily risk. I think you’ll find the “hammerfist” portion of the event when the guys start bashing the PS3 and Wii with their bare hands. It gets pretty technical when the bigger meatstick says, “You better hit that thing freakin’ hard,” to which the smaller meatstick replies,”Well…that’s the plan.” Indeed. You can catch more meatstick versus inanimate objects actions on G4TV’s new show Human Wrecking Balls, sponsored by Powerthirst and KFC’s as-yet unrevealed menu item, the Bucket of Southern Fried Awesome. Probably.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Contestants One Step Closer To Dubai, Fiery End

Earlier this spring Sony and Nissan announced a competition that would put Gran Turismo 5 Prologue gamers behind the wheel of an actual Nissan GT in a live race. Thousands of competitors came out of the wood work and went head to head playing Gran Turismo Prologue. Twenty gamers went on to the next level, a training course at the Silverstone GT Academy in Great Britain. Check the video of the contestants (all Europeans) getting put through the paces on the track, in the classroom, and generally trying to figure out who gets to be Maverick and Ice Man.

Adam Sessler: Fable 2 Will Turn Casual Gamers Into Full Blown Addicts

In the latest edition of Sessler’s Soapbox, X-Play barking head, Adam Sessler, compares Fable 2 to “the ’shrooms of gaming.” He backs off of calling it a “gateway drug” but he does theorize that the kind of gameplay in Fable 2 will catch a few casual Bejeweled players transition from match-three games to consoles. He also drops a reference to throwing his back out while throwing around the big plates at the gym. There is, however, no flexing of the guns. That job belongs to Strauss Zelnick.

LittleBigPlanet Beta Key Spawns First LittleBigPlanet Of Terror Level

It only took two weeks following the release of the LittleBigPlanet beta keys for someone to create a level based on the 9/11 attack on the twin towers as well as suicide truck bombing complete with cries to “Allah.” The truck bombing level also includes a line of speech from SackBoy that reads, “Dallas is next,” which on the surface seems to invoke the Oklahoma City bombing. Which, if true, only serves as a further indictment to the inherent dumbassery of the whole thing. This kind of shit had to be expected by Sony and Media Molecule. The only real surprise is that the first LBP level to raise a flag doesn’t somehow involve hardcore porn or necrophilia. The real question here is how will Sony deal with this kind of content? Matt Hazard Returns And He Brought Some Confessions With Him

D3 Publisher recently lifted the lid on their upcoming title, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. The newest trailer for the game hints at the kind of pop culture references D3 will throw into the game, including confessions of fictional sexual conquests by the title character. Hazard’s best quote so far, “You know that English chick who raids catacombs? I nailed her.” D3 has apparently given gaming story conventions the finger and just plan on doing whatever the hell they want, including penciling a character that appears to be Lindsay Lohan on Hazard’s arm. The Regginator Discusses The Logic Behind Denying American Gamers The DSi

X-Play correspondent Dan Hsu got a chance to grill Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime on the lag time between the announcement of the new DSi and its arrival sometime after April 2009. Fils-Aime does his best to defuse the situation saying that Nintendo has to appease its Japanese market first before turning Mario’s mustache to the west. According to the Regginator, Chrono Trigger and Pokemon will be more than enough to appease American DS fans for the next eight or nine months.
