Tiger Woods Joins Forces With Man-Dolphin To Launch PGA Tour 09
August 28, 2008The 360 version was actually easier to play than the Wii—or maybe the whiskey started to work on my reflexes before ascending to the second floor Wii kiosks. The 360 version isn’t much different from last year’s, but the GamerNet challenges seem pretty massive and diverse. Even without a tutorial, swinging made sense by the fourth hole of my first round. Afterwards, it was time to backtrack to get some in-game training with Hank Haney—Tiger’s real coach, who gets virtualized in ’09. He humiliated my fauxhawked golfer Qwerty, but complimented his putting. I don’t know what the hell Haney was on about, Qwer-dog doesn’t look any stranger than Ian Poulter.
Moving on to the Nintendo I quickly found out that swinging the Wii-mote only got me a bunch of well-aimed water hazards. But the mini games and arcade challenges added a pleasant cartoonification to the T. Woods universe. And, looking at Natalie Gulbis is always a bonus.
After Peter Moore delivered his speech and exited stage left, the club went to dancing, drinking and eating, all of which were just fine for a late-summer Wednesday. And, hey, Gillette gave away little shaving kits for cleaning away the hangover stubble.
